Monarch March Target We aimed to run 4 000 km, approximately the same distance monarchs migrate each fall. On October 6th, 2020 students across Canada ran or walked 2 180 km, which goes to show how amazing the monarch migration is! |

Pollinator Power Lesson
Start off the day of Monarch Mayhem with a biology lesson on pollinators and their importance to Canadians. Lessons available for Grades 1 to 12. |
Monarch March
A school walk or run with the goal of Canada's students reaching a cumulative total distance of 4 000 km. This distance is the length of the eastern monarch's fall travel from Canada to Mexico, where their overwintering grounds are located. |
Schoolyard Bioblitz
Get involved in citizen science with a Canada-wide Bioblitz using the Seek and iNaturalist apps. Students use a phone, camera or tablet to upload observations of wildlife in the schoolyard. Everything from 'weeds' to insects and birds can be submitted. |
Pollinator-Friendly Planting
Start a pollinator garden at your school. Sign up for Pollinator-Friendly Planting to receive a step-by-step guide and a native seed packet delivered in your welcome package if you register by September 15th. |
